Qualification & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree/ Engineering in Telecommunications/ IT/Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing cloud infrastructure in a telco environment (operator or vendor), including deployment and management of hypervisors (VMware, Xen, KVM) and platforms like vCloud and OpenStack.
  • Extensive experience of managing containerized applications & container orchestration platforms.
  • Proven experience managing backup solutions for infrastructure and applications, with a strong understanding of storage networking technologies (SAN, NAS, FCoE) and software-defined storage (e.g., CEPH).
  • In-depth knowledge of support, escalation procedures, and systems, along with expertise in server load balancers, firewall/IDS/IPS system.
  • Familiarity with Heat templates (Python scripting), Oracle/Linux administration, and database management, as well as experience with proactive and preventive maintenance tasks. Certifications in OpenStack, Kubernetes
  • Certification in RHCSA and RedHat OpenShift
  • ITIL Certification

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the configuration, testing, and operation of cloud infrastructure (OpenStack, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, VMware ESXi) and network components (SAN switches, servers, storage, Leaf & Spine switches).
  • Oversee software upgrades for cloud infrastructure and firmware updates for hardware.
  • Evaluate new technical requirements and design proposals. And prepare and adapt service catalogs, templates, and application models.
  • Ensure to prepare and manage technical evaluation of new technical requirements and design proposals.
  • Create and implement RFCs (Requests for Change) for resolving incidents and problems. And proactively identify potential risks and propose corrective actions.
  • Manage case escalations and oversee problem tickets through the care teams.
  • Verify functionality in accordance with maintenance documentation and troubleshoot network elements and interfaces for performance or capacity degradation.
  • Ensure to implement preventive maintenance methods and procedures and manage maintenance schedules.
  • Manage the backup solution, ensure daily healthy backups, and lead recovery efforts in case of a disaster.
  • Monitor hardware and software support lifecycles. And oversee system KPIs, perform capacity planning, and propose cost-effective operational improvements.
  • Participate in projects requiring changes to live networks.
  • Manage infrastructure-related aspects of data centre relocation, collaborating closely with the field operations team.
  • Actively participate in resolving operational issues and ensuring smooth service delivery. Ensure to coordinate with application teams to provide support during onboarding and troubleshooting processes.
  • Collaborate with third parties, vendors, and OEMs for issue resolution and support.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and yearly performance reports for cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform any additional project, task or activities assigned/delegated by the Line Manager.
