QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in Engineering with 8–10 years of relevant experience, including 3–5 years on major projects within fertilizer or petrochemical plants.

  1. Project Planning & Scheduling
  • Ensure that the Contractor develops and maintains Project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases in full compliance with EPCC Contract requirements.
  • Oversee EPCC Contractors performance of critical path analysis, float management, and schedule optimization to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Coordinate with discipline leads and contractors to ensure alignment of detailed schedules with the overall project timeline.
  • Lead the development of baseline schedules, including resource loading.
  • Monitor progress against baseline and forecast schedules, identifying delays and recommending recovery plans.
  • Implement and manage planning tools and ensure consistent use across all stakeholders.
  1. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track and report physical progress, earned value, and schedule performance.
  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with contractors to review and validate monthly progress reports and updates.
  • Support the preparation of Steering Committee presentations, highlighting key risks, achievements, and deviations.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable records of planning data, progress curves, and performance trends.
  1. Cost & Resource Planning
  • Ensure EPCC Contractor develops resource histograms, manpower plans, and productivity tracking.
  • Assist in forecasting cost impacts of schedule changes and delays.
  • Provide input for budget planning, cash flow projections, and cost control strategies.
  1. Contract & Change Management
  • Provide planning input for contract strategy, tender evaluations, and contractor selection.
  • Support the assessment and documentation of claims, variations, and extension of time (EOT) requests.
  • Ensure planning deliverables comply with EPCC contract requirements and project procedures.
  • Interface with Document Control to ensure timely availability and traceability of planning-related documents.
  1. Cost Monitoring & Performance Analysis
  • Coordinate with discipline leads and project managers to ensure cost plans reflect scope, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Assist in establishing baseline budgets and monitor changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track and report actual costs, commitments, and accruals against approved budgets.
  • Analyze cost variances and trends and recommend corrective actions to mitigate overruns.
  • Implement and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics such as CPI (Cost Performance Index) and TCPI (To-Complete Performance Index).
  • Prepare and present monthly cost reports, forecasts, and executive summaries for project leadership and stakeholders.
  1. Change Management & Claims Support
  • Evaluate cost impacts of scope changes, variation orders, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Support Project Management in the assessment and documentation of claims and disputes.
  • Update forecasts and budgets to reflect approved changes and ensure alignment with funding plans.
  • Maintain a Change Log and ensure traceability of all cost-related changes.
  1. Risk & Contingency Management
  • Conduct schedule risk assessments and participate in quantitative risk analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations).
  • Identify schedule-related risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation or acceleration strategies.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Project Risk Register in coordination with the Risk Manager.
  • Identify and assess cost-related risks and opportunities in collaboration with the Risk Manager.
  • Recommend and monitor contingency allocations and drawdown strategies.
  • Support quantitative risk analysis and scenario planning to evaluate financial exposure.
  1. Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare cost and schedule inputs for Project Monthly Reports, Steering Committee presentations, and internal reviews.
  • Maintain centralized and auditable records of cost data, forecasts, and historical trends.
  • Document and submit Lessons Learned related to cost control and financial management.
  1. Coordination & Strategic Support
  • Interface with Planning, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to ensure cost control alignment across disciplines.
  • Support the Senior Project Control Engineer in decision-making, resource allocation, and performance reviews.
  • Participate in planning coordination meetings with internal teams, contractors, and consultants.
  • Act as a key interface between Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project Controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and reporting standards.
