QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

1 Qualifications, Experience and Competencies requirement of Contractor personnel

Following shall be minimum requirements for all resources:

1.1 Language:

A. Engineer and Supervisor shall have knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively in written English

and spoken English and to write business or technical reports effectively in English language.

B. Technicians shall have working level proficiency of Read, Write, speak and Understand competency in

English language.

1.2 Safety:

Applicable to all the positions:

A. Shall be well familiar with the hazardous chemicals / materials used in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer

industry, their hazards, and safe practices to perform the Installation/Maintenance activity safely.

B. Shall always adhere to client Safety requirements.

C. Shall have knowledge about PTW(permit to work) system in large scale industries and shall pass

COMPANYs PTW as well as PTW acceptance authorization post training assessment tests.

D. Shall understand and work within the framework of COMPANYs Maintenance, HSEQ Policy, procedures and

regulations.

1.3 Job specific:

Position Qualifications and Competency

Automation Engineer

Qualification, experience, and competency in respective disciple:

Bachelors Engineering degree in in Instrumentation / Electronics discipline (12+4

years)

Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in Industrial Control Systems in

Petrochemical or Fertilizer industries.

Hands-on Maintenance and Troubleshooting experience of industrial automation

system such as DCS/ESD Control systems, Turbo Machinery Control and Protection

Systems, Cyber Security guidelines and networking etc.

1.4 Following are detailed hands-on experience and competencies requirements.

A. Automation Engineer:

– Carry out routine, corrective, and shutdown maintenance tasks in various Automation systems.

– Carry out Automation Project Engineering and commissioning activities in Automation Systems.

– Jobs in this level have prime responsibility to ensure that client Safety and Automation Systems

(SAS) are maintained in an efficient and economical way, to improve the safety, quality, quantity, and

environmental aspects of production.

– They must also ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with client Management

Systems and aligned with client Strategy.

Responsibilities

– Initiate and gain approval for work permits to facilitate the execution of assigned tasks in compliance

with Client safety requirements.

– Conduct toolbox meeting to discuss scheduled work activities and ensure correct tools and safety

equipment are available prior to commencement of work.

– Carry out the assigned day-to-day routine and non-routine maintenance jobs in the Automation systems

installed in Plant.

– Ensure that the work is completed on time, meeting client quality standards.

– Carry out ICS computer maintenance including Antivirus and Microsoft Security Patch update, operating

system configurations, basic troubleshooting of hardware/software issues.

– Ensure Automation assets are maintained in compliance with the client cyber security requirements.

– Support the installation, testing and Commissioning activities of ICS projects / upgrades.

– Ensure good housekeeping to secure the cleanliness of the workplace.

– Comply with company Life Saving Rules as per PSa-001 Life Saving Rule Document.

– Participate in the call duty to provide maintenance support outside working hours.

– Support the team to achieve the section/department KPIs.

– Comply with all relevant procedures of company Integrated Management System comprising of

Occupational Health and Safety, Quality, Environment, Responsible Care, IFA Product Stewardship &

energy Management System

– Key accountabilities

– Maintenance of Distributed control system, Safety Instrumented System, Compressor control system:

– Maintain the Automation Systems to ensure the highest uptime and MTBF.

– Establish and implement various maintenance schedules for the automation systems as recommended

by OEM.

– Supervise the work of staff for conformity, good engineering practices, international standards,

functional safety, and Cyber Security compliance.

– Project execution:

– Execute and support various Automation Projects, prepare cost proposal and coordinate – engineering

tasks, planning, procurement, manpower hiring, erection & commissioning.

– Work closely with all stake holders and vendor representatives, conduct necessary project meetings

and acceptance tests.

– Follow company procedures for change management.

Engineering activities:

– Planning, prioritization, execution and monitoring of engineering activities to ensure compliance to

sound engineering principles and practices.

– Develop new control strategies for enhanced controllability and energy optimization.

Information Security & Cyber security:

– Implement and regularly follow up the Cyber security controls and compliance requirements set by the

company to protect the automation assets and to ensure business continuity.

Problem analysis and Resolution:

– Analyze, determine root-cause, and recommend remedial solutions for problems referred from line

maintenance teams.

– Organize the gathered information to improve the Automation System Maintenance and uptime.

Management of spares and Frame Contracts:

– Maintain the existing frame contracts.

– Spares planning and periodic review of ROL, based on consumption, to ensure spares availability.

Technological Trends:

– Keep informed of technological developments in your area of responsibility to identify and recommend

opportunities for increased effectiveness and/or cost reduction.

– Work closely with SAS suppliers and keep up to date with the latest development in control and

instrumentation systems.

Budgets and Cost Control:

– Review inputs for development of group operating budget ensuring adequate provision has been made

for the funding of all anticipated activities.

– Monitor performance against approved levels to ensure effective cost control.

Technical Documentation:

– Ensure that the technical Documentation of SAS are current.

– Continuously monitor and optimize the work process and execution.

Training Follow-up:

– Training of new and/or trainee Engineers to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skills to

independently perform their tasks.

– Exchange knowledge with colleague Engineers.
