Chief Engineer

 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior engineering position, ideally within the hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of building management systems (BMS), energy management, and sustainability best practices.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management capabilities.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is a plus.
• Experience working in remote or environmentally sensitive locations is an advantage.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Engineering department, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building maintenance.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted operations and guest comfort.
• Supervise and mentor the engineering team, promoting a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and local authorities for inspections, certifications, and special projects.
• Ensure all engineering practices comply with health & safety standards, fire and life safety codes, and environmental guidelines.
• Collaborate with other department heads to support operational needs and special events.
• Develop and control the engineering budget, including energy consumption and cost-saving initiatives.
• Implement and track sustainability efforts aligned with Our Habitas environmental goals.
