QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Culinary or Pastry certification/diploma preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a pastry or bakery environment is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of basic pastry techniques and equipment operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic English communication skills.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Commis I (Pastry) assists in the daily preparation and production of baked goods, desserts, and pastries, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to hygiene standards. This role supports the pastry team in executing both daily operations and special projects.

  • Prepare and assist in the production of various pastries, desserts, and baked goods under the guidance of senior pastry staff.
  • Accurately measure and weigh ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and ensure proper cleaning after use.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Support senior pastry staff in special projects, events, or high-volume preparations.
  • Maintain an organized and clean workstation, including storage and handling of ingredients.
  • Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and monitoring ingredient levels.
  • Uphold hygiene and safety regulations at all times, maintaining cleanliness and organization in compliance with HACCP standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of pastry orders.
  • Participate in training and development programs to improve baking techniques and knowledge.
