QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in generator maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), synchronization panels, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Knowledge of NFPA, QCDD, and other applicable safety and compliance standards.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and load banks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor or emergency conditions.
- Valid driving license (preferred).
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform routine preventive maintenance of generators as per the maintenance schedule (oil change, filters, coolant,
belts, batteries, etc.).
· Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in generators.
· Carry out corrective maintenance, including repairs and part replacements.
· Test generator functionality, load capacity, and safety systems after servicing.
· Maintain accurate service logs, job sheets, and spare parts usage records.
· Monitor fuel levels, consumption, and ensure safe storage/handling of fuel.
· Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and restore power supply quickly.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies.
· Coordinate with the supervisor for spare parts requisition and inventory needs.
· Provide technical support during generator installations, commissioning, and upgrades
· Conduct load bank testing to verify generator performance under full capacity.
· Calibrate and test generator control panels, relays, sensors, and protection devices.
· Inspect and maintain Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and synchronization panels.
· Perform battery load testing and ensure proper charging system operation.
· Inspect fuel injection systems (pumps, injectors) and perform necessary adjustments.
· Check and maintain cooling systems (radiators, fans, coolant quality).
· Monitor & repair exhaust systems for leaks, blockages.
· Verify grounding and earthing systems for safe operation.
· Ensure compliance with NFPA, QCDD, and manufacturer standards for generator safety.
