Qualification & Experience:
BSc degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical engineering or a related discipline. Professional membership of a relevant Engineering institution (e.g., IMechE, ASME, NACE) is preferable.
A minimum 10-year hands-on experience of equipment inspection in Oil & Gas facilities including pressure vessel, piping, hydrocarbon storage tanks, and safety relief devices. Well versed of construction and inspection codes for pressurized equipment and piping (ASME BPVC, ASME 831.3, API 510,570,653,579,571, ASME PCC1, ASME PCC2). Familiar with standards pertaining material selection and corrosion protection (NACE, EEMUA). Working knowledge and understanding of maintenance management system, i.e., SAP and industry standard RBI management systems e.g., Meridium. Thorough understanding of Recommended Practice for Risk Based Inspection Technology (API RP580 and RP581). Having certified API 580 is preferrable. Possess at least two of inspection certificates: API 510, 570, 653. Competent in NOT techniques including types and selection of NOT for various requirements. Having NDT level-2 certificates for UT/MT/PT/RTFI (e.g. CSWIP, ASNT) is preferable. Thorough knowledge and understanding of protective coatings in Oil & Gas facilities. Coating Inspector Level 2 certification is preferred. Hands on experience in managing contract resources. Good leadership skills and experience in supervisory position. Computer literate with MS Office suite and SAP CMMS and an excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Supervise and carry out inspection of static equipment, piping and safety relief valves to determine equipment condition and identify degradation due to operating conditions. Recommend temporary repair solutions and approve site repairs and certification. Provide QA/QC for workshop repairs and re-certification (e.g. SRVs).
