Qualification & Experience:

  • University degree in food science or chemistry is a must
  • Awareness of ISO, HACCP, Health & Food safety and environmental regulations.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position
  • Nut manufacturing experience is a must
  • Language and proficiency – Fluent in English is must and Arabic could be advantages.
  • Computer proficiency level – working knowledge in MS Office suite and ERP

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Managing Food Safety and Hygiene Monitoring Systems.
  • Provides technical guidance on the purchase of Raw, Packaging materials & quality related instruments.
  • Standardize and implement testing methods for incoming raw materials, finished products and packaging material in terms of chemical, physical and microbiology aspects.
  • Responsible for maintaining specifications and develop an audit system to ensure plant operations are meeting proper specifications.
  • Preparation & Implementing Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Sanitary Operations Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Conducting internal audits related to food hygiene.
  • Coordinating with external team for the implementation & certification of HACCP/ISO
  • Conduct supplier’s audit to list out the approved suppliers.
  • Conducting and coordinating internal /external training related to food safety /Hygiene.
  • Providing the on-job training regularly and when an issue comes out.
  • Enforce and ensure proper plant Sanitation and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) by maintaining continuous inspections.
  • Preparation of Raw material / Finished product specifications by referring the supplier documents and international standards.
  • Preparation all quality related procedures and implementation of same.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the plant and employee’s hygiene and safety during the operations.
  • Inspection of Raw, Finished & Packaging materials at the right time and preparing the report accordingly
  • Inspection of Market return items, proposing the action plan for rework and follow up on same till releasing for the sale.
  • Attending the customer complaint and close out the issue by providing required documents and taking the needful action internally.
  • Attending the external party and Local Authority audit and propose the required corrective actions.
  • Ensuring Municipality / legal requirements are following properly without any violations
  • Coordinates with the production department for QC related issues
  • During production perform all the specified Laboratory tests on line samples at the frequency specified in the Standards
  • Solves basic quality problems within prescribed guidelines to ensure final product integrity
  • Documents obtained test results in the quality sheets as mentioned in the Standards.
  • Ensures all arrived raw material are within specifications by performing quality checks and document the results.
  • Performs quality test on in the in line production and finished goods according to the procedures and frequency specified in the Standards.
  • Monitors finished product packaging integrity/date coding.
  • Calibrates and documents the Lab equipments per frequency specified in the Standards.
  • Ensures proper storage of raw materials, finished goods, rotation “FIFO” and expiring units.
  • Reports to maintenance department any equipment -malfunctions.
  • Strictly adheres to Food safety and Hygiene policy & procedures.
  • Ensures that proper housekeeping has been carried out in the plant.
  • Responsible to ensure all internal food audits are completed in the agreed timelines
  • Handles all production and quality related customer complaints (follow escalation process)
  • Coordinates with third party vendors to ensure that sanitation and Pest control activities are done as per agreed schedules
  • Responsible in assisting the audit requirements by External audit and governing bodies including certification bodies.
  • Responsible for the Health & Food safety procedures are implemented on individuals and visitors to the Plant i.e. provides the safety clothing, ensures relevant documentation is completed, etc.
  • Responsible for making of policy, implementation on individuals and visitors to the Plant.
  • Development ,implementation & Maintain food safety management system
  • Development Evaluation and Maintaining Food Defense programme
  • Conducting internal audit, Visitor hygiene assessment and personal hygiene assessment with record maintaining
  • Pest controlling and maintain effective integrated pest management system
  • Maintain food safety training records & identify the training requirements.
  • Gathers and analyses easily available quality related data in order to facilitate decision making at the next level.
  • Identifies needs for quality improvement and provides suggestions for innovative solutions.
  • Analyze Food safety trends and recommends the output to next level of management for corrective/preventive action.
